The Power of Paint

Walden Bedroom Transformed

From children’s bedroom to sophisticated bedroom.

Trendy wall colours

The last few years we have seen an increase in the trend of darker paint colours. Darker colours can make larger rooms feel more cozy, wider rooms appear more narrow or can be used purposefully, to guide the eye outside, when casings of a window are painted dark.

When selling a home, it is much harder to take an amazing photos of a room, that is painted dark. The darker colours can look busy, make the room feel so small and take the eye away from elements you like to show well.

During my staging consultation I advised the owners to paint out the room in a light and neutral color (it takes several coats!). It was quite the commitment but as you can see with amazing results.

We moved the sidetable to the left side of the bed, creating visual space and “air” to the room. Buyers are able to walk to the windows and see the view. The room feels larger when furniture is not moved up against the wall. Buyers get a clear idea of size and use, when seeing this listing picture.

This bedroom is now suitable for any person, not just a younger child. We have highlighted the beautiful floor that is there and as you can see, the artwork is now a feature.

The house sold in the first week on market and I know the presentation was a key element in that sale.
